Since You’ve Been Gone by: Morgan Matson Book Review!

I’m sorry guys but I can’t help to sing Kelly Clarksons’ Since You’ve Been Gone everytime I see or read this book.

Hey you! ๐Ÿ˜€ Hello guys I am back! Two book reviews in one day this is sweet!

Anyway, I’ve finished Since You’ve Been Gone last Tuesday and it was clearly unexpected.

So without further rants, let’s start! ๐Ÿ™‚

Author:ย Morgan Matson

Pages:ย 449 pages

Publication:ย May 6th 2014 by: Simon & Schuster

I’ve been waiting for a long time to read this book but I kept on hesitating to buy the book because I prefer to buy a series rather than a contemporary novel. So I read the book in epub form instead. I’ve read the first two chapters of the book about a week ago and then I stopped because I’ve concentrated reading Red Queen after that I took a break because good heavens Red Queen killed my feels. Anyway, when Tuesday came I was installing a game and while waiting I don’t have anything to do so I grabbed my phone and took a chance to read Since You’ve Been Gone. GUESS WHAT? I’ve finished the book in a day because it was so so so good.

I was drawn to this book because of its unique plot like what kind of best friend leaves you own your own without a word at all and then after how many days of searching, wondering, and emotional breakdowns you receive a letter from your best friend which composed of lists you need to do during summer. AMAZING RIGHT?

I can truly say that this book was not filled with cliche events I swear it doesn’t. I don’t know for you guys but every moment in this book was unique and inspiring. You’ll be truly lost in its story and you’ll never notice the time and how many pages are left to read. The events were perfectly matched and it everything made sense. In this book you’ll see how true friendship works and how to be brave and strong when facing your biggest fears in life. I highly recommend this book to you all guys. Please, you’ll get lots of realizations and moral lessons reading this book.

Family, Friendship, Love life? This book contains everything!

That’s it for this review guys and don’t forget to leave your thoughts down below! ๐Ÿ™‚

Til’ next time!

Desperate Reads!

Hey guys!

I’m back again and I’m so thankful to have some energy left to make this post!

Anyway, We all have some books that we are so desperate to read right? Right. But for me it’s different. I’m desperate to read these books but I still can’t have them because I already have some plans.

But don’t worry I have plans to have these books soon!

Now, now everyone let’s start! ๐Ÿ™‚

The Legion Trilogy by: Kami Garcia

I really want to read books with ghosts in it and I knew that this series would be perfect. When I’ve read the plot of the books I was hooked and when I watched the book trailers well I got excited and intrigued. I guess this series will freak me out and I really hope so because hello? Ghosts in the story? IT. MUST. BE. FREAKING. SCARY. Kami Garcia is one of my favorite authors since she wrote the Caster Chronicles together with Margaret Stohl (you know the Beautiful Creatures series). That means I have so much expectations with this series.

The third book of the series is not yet published but a lot of people says it will be published this year. (YES PLEASE! Cause I hate cliffhangers or emotional distress.)

Icons Duology by: Margaret Stohl

Yep, still one of my favorite authors. Margaret Stohl wrote a dystopian series?! *mind blown* I love dystopian series and I love Margaret Stohl and I also love aliens! Holy alien babies everywhere!ย Well, I really couldn’t ask for more. My favorites are in this series and so why not grab both books immediately? Since it’s a freaking duology and it’s totally complete I’ve already decided about a minute ago that I should grab the books this year. Yeah, I should! NO. ONE. CAN. STOP. ME. Okay, I’m freaking out. *breathes heavily*

P.S. I guess I’ll beg for a third book as soon as I finish these two books.

ย That’s it for this post people but don’t worry I have lots of desperate reads and that means I’ll make a part two for this post this coming Saturday.

So stay tuned for that! ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you enjoyed this post and don’t forget to leave your thoughts down below!

See ya’ll!

United As One

by:ย Pittacus Lore

7th book of Lorien Legacies Series

Publisher:ย HarperCollins

Publication Date: June 28, 2016

Pages: Not yet specified.

“The Mogadorian invasion has come to Earth, and they have all but won the battle for our planet. Their warships loom over our most populous citiesโ€”like New York City, Tokyo, Moscow, Beijing, and New Delhiโ€”and no army will risk making a move against them. The Garde are all that stand in their way . . . but they are no longer alone in this fight. Human teens from across the globe, like John Smithโ€™s best friend, Sam Goode, have begun to develop Legacies of their own.

The Garde have always known there is power in numbers. If they can find these new allies and join forces with them, they just might be able to win this war. The time has come for the Garde to make their final stand.”

Yep, I should really read The Fate of Ten next month since I’ve been holding back to read the book as what I’ve said yesterday.

And… maybe… well, maybe the things that I’ve been expecting will happen in this book. Hopefully! *crosses my fingers*

So, that’s it for this post folks and I hope you enjoyed it!

Please don’t forget to leave your thoughts down below and I’ll see ya’ll!

Some Books I’ve Been Holding Back To Read!

Hey guys!

How are you all?

I actually didn’t go to school earlier because I was sick but now I’m totally freaking fine. I was actually tempted to make three posts today but I really need some rest.

But here I am right now facing my laptop and so pumped up to make a post!

Anyway, today I just want to share some books I’ve been holding back to read and you’ll know why later. ๐Ÿ™‚

So without further ado, Let’s start!

The Blood of Olympus by: Rick Riordan

When I finished The House of Hades which is the fourth book of The Heroes of Olympus series, I was so desperate to read the fifth book but I still have to wait because it was not yet released. Then after few months of agony my mum bought me the book but I felt really weird. I started to read the book but I was afraid to finish it. I really didn’t want the series to end yet so I put it back and proceed to another series. I guess this year is the right time to read the book so that I could already read the Magnus Chase & the Gods of Asgard Series.

I’ll totally miss Percy and his squad but I wish they’ll have some appearances in this series.

The Fate of Ten by: Pittacus Lore

HA! Don’t get me wrong guys I so want to read this book and I know this is not the last book of the series. It’s just that something happened in this book that I totally do not want because it’s so freaking ultra mega sad. Yes, I was spoiled *cries* but since the last book will be released this 28th of June it’s time for me to read this book and I bet I’ll cry reading this books. I do really need to prepare my feels ugh! Anyway, I still have my hopes up for the last book though. Maybe or maybe not.

Dangerous Creatures Series

Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

Uh huh… when I finished the Beautiful Creatures series I really had enough of Ethan and Lena. No, not really I still want to read about them but I was more into Ridley and Link’s life after the events. Thankfully, the authors made an another series which is now focused on Ridley & Link. I’ve been holding myself from reading the series because I already knew how the series will end and it is not what I have expected. I almost cried at the bookstore when I’ve read the last part of Dangerous Deception. Well, it was truly my fault for spoiling myself. tsk. tsk. Anyway, it’s time for me to deal with this series this year. I miss the world of Casters.

That’s it for this post folks and I do really need to sleep now!

I hope you enjoyed this post and don’t forget to leave your thoughts down below.

See ya’ll!

Problems I Encounter When I’m Making A Blog Post!

Hey guys!

Yaaas, I’m still here! ๐Ÿ˜€

Well, school just started and I can already feel the pressured surroundings and I’m so bloody tired right now.

But it will never stop me to make a blog post for this day! As what I’ve said yesterday, I am not going to have three posts a day during weekdays but I’ll only haveย oneย post in a day instead. While during the weekends I’ll have two to three blog posts per day.

I hope you’ll all understand because school just started today and we will be soon bombarded with projects, exams, and quizzes.

So, as a book blogger or even if you’re not a book blogger as long as you’re a BLOGGER we encounter some problems when we’re making a blog post right?

So today I’m going to share mine!

So without further rants, Let’s start! ๐Ÿ™‚

1.) Running out of ideas.

giphy (1)

This my hatest problem when it comes to blogging. Especially, when I’m already facing the laptop and I stared at it dumbly because I don’t have any ideas what to post or to type.Thankfully, after a few hours of brainstorming an idea will pop in my head and it gets me excited because aside from getting in touch with my fellow book bloggers it’s good to share your ideas and opinions with other people.

2.) Crappy Internet Connection.

It pissed me off when the internet connection went crappy. It’s so hard to upload any GIF’s or photos. Lots of error occurs which ruins my plans for my post. It’s also even hard to open my blogsite sometimes. Tsk. Tsk. It’s so freaking irritating.

3.) Distractions.

giphy (2)

HA! My distractions? 1.) Television 2.) Youtube and 3.) Instagram.

Well, they are called as blissful distractions. (HAHAHA!) Anyway, the point is instead of finishing the post fastly it gets delayed or worst I don’t finish making the post at all because I already fell asleep or I let myself engrossed with those wickedly blissful distractions.

4.) Should I read or make a post at this moment?giphy (3)

The most difficult question to answer aside from Math problems. I love reading and I also love book blogging and it’s so hard to choose between them especially when I’m loving the book that I’m currently reading.

5.) Time Management.

giphy (4)

It’s kinda hard to manage your time during school days but during school breaks and summer? Easy peasy. Cause school days means studying and exerting more of your energy for school stuffs. I do want to make lots of posts last year but school drained my energy and I just fell asleep while making a post. But this year as part of my Bookish New Year’s Resolutionย I’ll be more active on my blog and I’ll manage my time wisely.

Book Characters I’d Like To Cosplay!

Hey guys!

I’ve stopped reading The 5th Wave for awhile cause I’m itching to do this blog post.

So yeah, I’ve been a cosplayer before but I already stopped because I’m now more focused with reading and blogging.

Anyway, I still want to cosplay but this time it’s going to be different because instead of cosplaying an anime character, I’m going to cosplay my favorite characters from the books I love.

Well, it’s not like I’m going to present my favorite characters on stage but a photoshoot will do. Oh! I can also film a roleplay with my bookish friends and post it here!

(Honestly, I don’t have some bookish friends in person yet.)

So guys!

Without further ado, Let’s start!

#1: Clary Fray

The Mortal Instruments Series

Photo from Pinterest.

Ohhh… so craving to cosplay Clary for a year already! I already own some of her outfit but I don’t have her boots and gloves yet. I also want to have a stele and some seraph blades to add in the kickass outfit but most of all I need to dye my hair like Clary’s hair and draw somes runes on my body so that I really do like a Shadowhunter or Clary.

#2: Hermione Granger

Harry Potter Series

Photo from Pinterest.

Who wouldn’t to cosplay Hermione or just dress up like a Hogwarts student right? I’ve been wanting to have the Hogwarts uniform since I was in sixth grade. HA! and now I still don’t have it. Scratch that though, maybe I’ll have it pretty pretty soon. Can’t wait to wear that awesome coat at school. ย That would be weird for some people but I don’t care.

*wink. wink.*

#3: Katy Swartz

LUX Series

Photo from Polyvore.

Yaaas! I really need the freaking shirt as soon as I can! This is the simplest outfit in this post right? Just that awesomesauce shirt, a pants, boots, and an obsidian necklace. I guess, I need to find an obsidian necklace. It’s an important accessory of Katy.

(That shirrrrrrrrrt!!!)

#4: America Singer

The Selection Series

Photo from Wikia.

Holy molies!

This is my most favorite gown that America Singer wore in the books. The gown is just simple but it is elegant. The rose thingy in the gown is completely attractive and other than black gowns I also love white gowns.

Man, I’d love to wear this gown in our senior’s ball soon and have a photoshoot after the ball. Mhmmm… sounds like a plan.

(Although, I was planning for a Victorian dress.)

#5: June Iparis

Legend Trilogy

Photo from Pinterest.

This outfit have some similarities with a Shadowhunter’s outfit but the difference is the military aura of the outfit. I was practically drooling when Marie Lu described June’s outfit in her books. It was so cool and I really want a military or punk outfit. I was already imagining myself with June’s outfit while reading the outfit and that’s the time I decided I’d cosplay her soon.

So that’s it for this post folks and I hope you enjoyed it! ๐Ÿ™‚

I might not post 3 time a day during weekdays because my class is going to resume tomorrow already. Yup, that’s right tomorrow. *cries*

Christmas break is over! I CAN’T WAIT FOR SUMMER!!!

But don’t worry folks I’ll post two or three times a day during the weekends. ๐Ÿ™‚

Don’t forget to leave your thoughts down below people and I’ll see ya’ll!

Books That I’d Like To Add Up On My Plan!

Hey guys! ๐Ÿ™‚

Do you remember my post that talks about the books I’ll buy on 2016?

Yes, that post and I already have some books to add on my plan!

So without further ado, Let’s start! ๐Ÿ™‚

The End Game Trilogy

James Frey & Nils Johnson-Shelton

Been raving for this books last year and I haven’t buy it yet because it’s not complete and I know that you know the reason already. (#CliffhangerIssues) Since the third book will be released this year, I guess it will be good to pick up the series already and put them on my bookshelf for sometime and read them! It’s a freaking dystopian and the plots are very mysterious which made me more desperate to have the series.

Prisoner of Night & Fog Series

Anne Blankman

I really have thought the series will have three books but as I’ve searched the series on Goodreads, I’ve read that it will only have two books. I’m also dying to read historical fiction novels. The plot of both books are so interesting and lots of reviews told me to be emotional prepared.

HA! It’s so on!!! I’ll see these books this year!

Bloodlines Series

Richelle Mead

Well, if I’ll have this series this year then I should finish the last two books of Vampire Academy series. I haven’t finished the series last year because it gave me a very bad reading slump and so I stopped and proceed into another series. I guess, I’ll be more pumped up to read the last two books this year especially when I’ll purchase this series soon!

Yay! So, that’s it for this post and I hope you all enjoyed it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Don’t forget to leave your thoughts down below and I’ll see ya’ll!

Movie Adaptations I’d Like To Watch On 2016!

Hey guys! ๐Ÿ™‚

I can’t believe it’s 2016 already HA! and 2016 means lots of movie adaptations will be in the cinemas.

So I’d like to share to ya’ll what are the movie adaptations that I’d like to watch on 2016.

Let’s Start!

1.) The 5th Wave

Release Dates

USA, January 22, 2016. Philippines, February 3, 2016.

I haven’t read the book yet but I’ll start reading it tomorrow! I know that I’ll love the series especially it’s sci-fi and it has aliens on it. I’d like to see the movie because I’d like to see the book in real life and I’d like to compare the differences they made in the movie from the book and I’ll surely rant about it.

ย 2.) The Choice

Release Dates

USA, February 5,2016. Philippines, Not yet specified.

The Choice is a novel written by Nicholas Sparks yes, NICHOLAS SPARKS! Who would’ve thought that I’d be watching a movie based from the novels Nicholas Sparks! It started last year though when I watched The Longest Ride & The Best of Me and I fell in love with them. I haven’t read any of his books yet but don’t worry his books are part of my TO BE READ or TO BUY books.

3.) Allegiant

Release Dates

USA, March 18, 2016. Philippines, March 9, 2016

It’s been a while since I’ve read the series and I miss them already and that’s part of my reasons why I’d like to see the movie. The last movie which is the INSURGENT was kinda disappointing for ย me. They’ve changed lots of things and that pissed me off on so many levels. I know they have their own reasons and I respect that but ranting is inevitable. (HAHAHA!) Anyway, Allegiant will be split into two parts and the second part will be called ASCENDANT which will be released on 2017.

4.) Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

Release Dates

USA, December 25,2016. Philippines, Not yet specified.

I’ve been waiting for the movie to come out in ages because the kept on changing the release date but it’s okay I know they have reasons. Anyway, I wish that the release date here in our country will be the same with USA and if not I don’t really know what would I do.

5.) Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Release Dates

USA, November 18,2016. Philippines, November 17,2016.

I already miss the wizarding world and it will be so good to be back this coming November! I’m so pumped up to see the movie with my lil’ sis and I even screamed so loud when I watched the teaser trailer. Man, it was a teaser trailer only I can’t even imagine how I’ll act if I’ve got to see the movie! Maybe I’ll faint? or worse. We never know!

P.S. Want to see the movie in IMAX and I’ll be always a Potterhead forever and ever!

That’s it for this post and I hope you enjoyed it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Don’t forget to leave your thoughts down below and I’ll see you all later!

-Shawna ๐Ÿ˜€

My January TBR!

Yow guys! ๐Ÿ™‚

How’s your New Year everyone? Well mine is ummm… errr… let’s say well never mind! ๐Ÿ˜€

I’m so excited to share my TBR for this month guys and you’ll know why as soon as I start the main agenda for this post! ๐Ÿ™‚

So without further ado, Let’s start!

ย The 5th Wave by: Rick Yancey

As what I’ve told you earlier The 5th Wave will be on my TBR pile for this month since I haven’t got the chance to read it last December. I wish I could have the second and third book already so that I can read the the trilogy continuously because I’m so afraid to encounter a cliffhanger. Nevertheless, I’ll read the book especially that, it’ll hit on theaters this coming February here in our country. Yes, that’s right in our country only. (Philippines)

The Dark Elements Trilogy

by: Jennifer L. Armentrout

Yaaas!!! Another series written by Jennifer L. Armentrout and that’s why I’m so excited to share my TBR pile to you all! I’m also excited to read the series well because it’s JENNIFER L. AREMENTROUT GUYS! She writes the most amazing protagonist and well H-A-W-T guys and it’s not the only thing we can pick from her books. We can also learn lots of moral lesson that will be surely attached into your hearts forever.

All in all, I’ll read four books for this month and I must accomplish this goal because it’s already 2016!

Time to fulfill our promises!

So, that’s it for today folks! I hope you enjoyed reading this post! ๐Ÿ™‚

And… don’t forget to leave your thoughts down below!

See ya’ll!

Books That I Planned To Buy On 2016!

Hey Guysssss!

Yep, more and more books to buy as what I’ve said on my Bookish New Year’s Resolution. I’ve already planned the books that I’ll buy last October and yes I like to plan ahead of time! ๐Ÿ™‚

So let’s start!!!

1.) ย The Throne of Glass Series by: Sarah J. Maas2015-10-10--13-14-15

Been raving for this series for how many months already but can’t buy the series because it’s not yet complete. Then I’ve changed my mind and my patience is already wearing out and so I’ll totally buy this series!

2.) The Lunar Chronicles by: Marissa Meyer

Who wouldn’t want this series? Well, I’ve been raving for this series for a very long time too and since it is now complete why not freaking grab it!

3.) The Unearthly Trilogy by: Cynthia Hand

Been planning to have this trilogy for a very long time but I haven’t got a chance to buy these books. So, I guess 2016 will be the time to buy them!

4.) The Alienated Trilogy by: Melissa Landers

YAAAY! Another alien series!!! I really have a weak spot for alien novels and since the third book will be released this August 2016 I’ll definitely buy them!

5.) The Young Elites Trilogy by: Marie Lu

After I’ve finished the Legend trilogy I was totally thrilled to read The Young Elites Trilogy. You see Marie Lu’s writing is superb and I know that this trilogy is superb too! The last book of the trilogy will be released on 2016 too!

6.) The Lone City Trilogy by: Amy Ewing

Uh huh… Another raved trilogy! It’s a freaking dystopian trilogy and I also have a weak spot for dystopian novels. Gotta have the series as soon as the third book will be released on 2016.

7.) Snow Like Ashes Trilogy by: Sarah Raasch

Well, I know that I should never judge a book by it’s cover but the cover has some kind of Throne of Glass vibe in it so I decided to have this series soon. It’s a fantasy novel and I also love fantasy novels but mostly Dystopian and Alien novels hailed but still I’ll surely have the series!

Third book will also be released this coming 2016!

8.) Hex Hall Trilogy by: Rachel Hawkins

A paranormal fantasy trilogy and that alone is tone of the reason why I’d like to have this series. I haven’t read lots of paranormal series and so I’ll start with this series and get addicted with paranormal stuffs.

9.) Everneath Trilogy by: Brodi Ashton

It’s been a long time since I’ve read a series that has some Greek mythology in it and I’ve missed the Greek world already and that’s why I’ll have these books!

10.) Razorland Trilogy by: Ann Aguirre

Dystopian wolrd + Zombies = PERFECTION! I’ve never read a dystopian novel with zombies in it. Well, I kinda have but they are not called zombies and I think there are some huge differences. I’ll truly prepare myself whenever I’ll read the series. A lot of people says that this trilogy is kinda scary. *AWOOOOOOO*

11.) The Sweet Series by: Wendy Higgins

I’ve been attracted to this series for how many months already and my desperation for this series increased especially when the first book was mentioned in the LUX series. So I’ve just decided yesterday to add the series on my list!

So that’s my plan for 2016 folks! I guess more books will be added on my plan and if so I’ll update you all about it!

I hope you enjoyed reading this postand don’t forget to tell me what are the books that you are planning to buy for 2016?
