SunTag: The Mystery Blogger Award

It’s quite a while since I’ve been nominated and I thank Amanda of ChocolatePages for nominating me and remembering my existence here in our planet. Seriously though, thank you so much Amanda! 🙂 This kind of post thrills me and I’m more than prepared to do this one. Hope you all will  get to know me even just a bit with this post.

Before anything else, let me just show you the following rules:

Put the award logo/image in your post.

List all the rules.

Thank whoever nominated you and leave a link to their blog.

Tell your readers 3 things about yourself.

Nominate 10-20 people and notify them.

Link back to the creator of the award.

Ask nominees any 5 questions of your choice, with a weird or funny question.

Share the link to your best/favourite post of yours.

a.) When I’ve got nothing to do and when I’m drowning in boredom I go to school for fun.  I tend to stay in our school library and it’s actually cool because they have fast internet connection and some carpets and couches to lay upon and we are also allowed to sleep in there too. It’s like my home but not really my home.

b.) HOME-SCHOOL-BOOKSTORE-HOME-SCHOOL-BOOKSTORE vice versa. This is always my route and nothing more. I only go to malls to visit a bookstore and after that I’m done. Well, not really because I also enter shoe shops after my book shopping but after that I go home immediately. There’s no reason for me to stay and I just can’t wait to read my book and tuck myself into bed. Is it possible for me to go inside a mall without a bookstore? My answer is nope. Not a chance buddy unless I buy food and some of my basic needs but what is a mall without a bookstore? IT’S BORING.

c.) I’d like to live in a castle someday and I’m dead serious about this. Aside from this lunatic wish I also love the Victorian era. It’s weird because I love to dress myself up with elaborate gowns during the Victorian period and sometimes I wish I could wear the outfit whenever I like and wherever I go. But of course I can’t wear Victorian dresses without humiliating myself first in public, but I’m trying to mix Victorian fashion with modern day fashion whenever I dress up. I also love to decorate my future house in a Victorian way or I can also live in a castle you know. I’m soooooo attracted with this era because of its elegance or as my mum would say maybe I’m a reincarnation of a Victorian princess. Well, who knows but it’s not bad to hope right? *laughs maniacally*

1.) What is your favorite day out of the whole year?

Hmmm… I don’t really give some thoughts about my favorite day and maybe I just don’t like to have a specific favorite day because for me everyday is my favorite day. It is my favorite day because I’m still alive and kicking, I still have my family and friends beside me, I still have many books to read, more poems and stories to write, and a lot of things to learn, discover, and explore. There are days that are bad but I don’t like to focus myself about the bad instead, I think of it as an opportunity to improve and better days are coming ahead. Everything happens for a reason and sometimes reasons may come vague or clear but I believe there is a reason behind every things and so I never ever dare to falter. Hope is such an amazing force to include in your armory when you battle against the trials of life.

2.) If you had to stay somewhere alone for a week would you choose a white sands beach or a green forest?

I’d rather stay in a white sand beach obviously. Green forest is nice but there’s a tendency it will creep me out due to my wild imagination. Just thinking about it makes me squeal an “eeek.” While a white sand beach is an open area and just listening to  the waves and smelling the aroma of the sea makes me want to lay on the seashore until midnight. I can already imagine myself laying down on the sand while sipping an iced tea while reading.

3.) What would your ‘last meal’ request be?

A carbonara with egg sandwiches and three glasses of iced tea. Bring on the macaroni salad and the mango float and of course a book. Books will be always a part of a meal. A meal is no fun without a good book to read. my friend.

4.)  There has to be a bookish question, so what is your all time favourite book?

This is a hard question Amanda and a torture. *cries* Hmmm… my all time favourite book would be… Wait. Can I skip this question? Like I love all of my books but— alright, alright then I’ll just face this challenge head on! My all time favourite book would be the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. This series started my bookish escapades and without this series I might not be a hardcore reader and there’s a big chance I’ll never discover my passion for reading and writing. I’ll probably have a boring life to live so thank the heavens and thank you mum and grandma for pushing me to read since I was born and for letting me eat the Harry Potter series during my childhood.

5.) Where is your favourite place in the whole world?

Home. Well, the continent of Europe can be but there’s no place like home. Home is where my I can find my family, home is where I learned many things about life, home is where I stumbled but still managed to get up no matter how cruel life is, home is where I grew up and home is basically my life. Without home I’m lost and a person without a soul.

I don’t have one because all my posts are my favorite. I worked hard in each every post and poured my heart into it. Just explore my blog and you’ll see. 🙂 Have fun!

Here are MY QUESTIONS nominees:

1.) Who is your favorite Disney Princess?

2.) What is your favorite Disney song?

3.) What is your favorite classical book?

4.) If you are given a chance to choose a fictional character to marry who would it be?

5.) If you are going to to write a book what would be its genre?

Finally dooonnnee!

Again, I’d like to thank Amanda of Chocolatepages for nominating me and do visit here blog people! 🙂

For my nominees have fun doing this post and thank you for having your blog and sharing your thoughts and feelings about books. It makes the book blogging community alive and filled with color.

Until my next post people! 🙂

See ya!

The Last Star BOOK COVER!

Hey guys! Yes, another book cover! 🙂

So last Thursday ummm… was it Thursday or Wednesday? Whatever it happened this week anyway. Rick Yancey revealed the cover for his third book!

Here it is!

“We’re here, then we’re gone, and that was true before they came. That’s always been true. The Others didn’t invent death; they just perfected it. Gave death a face to put back in our face, because they knew that was the only way to crush us. It won’t end on any continent or ocean, no mountain or plain, jungle or desert. It will end where it began, where it had been from the beginning, on the battlefield of the last beating human heart.

Master storyteller Rick Yancey invokes triumph, loss, and unrelenting action as the fate of the planet is decided in the conclusion to this epic series.”

From yellow to blue and then now to red! This trilogy has very breathtaking covers. As what I’ve told you last week I haven’t read the first book yet but it is currently sitting on my bookshelf. I’m going to read the book this coming December and the third book will be released on May 17,2016.

I don’t have much to say about this book since I don’t have any ideas about the trilogy yet. Hmmm… I might have some but it’s vague.

Can’t wait to read this trilogy soon!

If you want to check the book click the link down below.

Don’t forget to leave your thoughts down below and I’ll see you all on my next blog post later! 🙂

My Very First Book Haul!

Finally! Here’s the book haul that ya’ll have been waiting for and once again I’m so sorry for the delay. I’ll not make more rants cause I know you’re all excited to know what books are in my book haul sooo…

Please don’t mind my eyeglasses and my bag I really don’t know why I included those things and I have taken this photograph two week ago so I beg ya’ll pardon.

As you could see in the picture I have On a Dark Wing by: Jordan Dane,Outside In by: Maria V. Snyder, and Touch of Power by: Maria V. Snyder.

I bought these three books at BOOKSALE and this bookstore sells a lot of cheap books and I think some of the books are used, rejected, or I really don’t know and don’t care because the most important thing is the book is in good condition and it is cheap. I haven’t planned to have these books at all. I just entered the bookstore and scanned for some good books and tadaaa! I found these babies so I grabbed the chance and reached for the stars.

On a Dark Wing by: Jordan Dane

I think this book is not a series but it is just a stand alone novel. What made me buy this book was its catchy summary and its book cover too.  This book is all about a girl who cheated death, about angels,a boy, and more paranormal stuffs. So I guess if you have read the Fallen Series by: Lauren Kate (which I haven’t read yet) you’ll love this book.

Here’s the summary of the book that I got from  goodreads:

“Five years ago, Abbey Chandler cheated Death. She survived a horrific car accident, but her “lucky” break came at the expense of her mother’s life and changed everything. After she crossed paths with Death—by taking the hand of an ethereal boy made of clouds and sky—she would never be normal again.

Now she’s the target of Death’s ravens and an innocent boy’s life is on the line. When Nate Holden—Abbey’s secret crush—starts to climb Alaska’s Denali, the Angel of Death stalks him because of her.

And Abbey finds out the hard way that Death never forgets.”

Outside In by: Maria V. Snyder

I’ve been dying to read some novels written by Maria Snyder especially her Study series but when I saw this book I grabbed it immediately even though it is the second and the last book of the Insiders Series. I really don’t have any idea what this series is all about but I guess it is a dystopian series since the book cover says “Fans of the Hunger Games will devour this.”  Ha! Can’t wait to find the first book and start reading this series. SO!!! Kudos to this series.

Here’s the summary of the book from goodreads anyway:

“Me? A Leader? Okay, I did prove that there’s more to Inside than we knew. That a whole world exists beyond this cube we live in. And finding that led to a major rebellion – between worker scrubs like me and the snobby uppers who rule our world. Make that ruled. Because of me, we’re free. I thought that meant I was off the hook, and could go off on my own again – while still touching base with Riley, of course. He’s the one upper I think I can trust. But then we learned that there’s outside and then there is Outside. And something from Outside wants In.”

Touch of Power by: Maria V. Snyder

Yes! Another book written by Maria V. Snyder when I picked this book my heart was literally pounding because of excitement. Believe me I really want to shout and jump up and down at the bookstore but sadly I can’t so I keep my emotions under control at that time. So this is the first book of Snyder’s Healer Series. All I know is that this book is all about magic, fantasy, and of course romance. Since I only have the first book of the series I’ll not read the book yet until I find the two sequels of this book. So wish me luck in finding the two books!

Here’s the summary of the book from goodreads:

“Laying hands upon the injured and dying, Avry of Kazan assumes their wounds and diseases into herself. But rather than being honoured for her skills, she is hunted. Healers like Avry are accused of spreading teh plague that has decimated the Territories, leaving the survivors in a state of chaos.

Stressed and tired from hiding, Avry is abducted by a band of rogue who, shockingly, value her gift above the golden bounty offered for her capture. Their leader – an enigmatic captor-protector with powers of his own – is unequivocal in his demands; Avry must heal a plague-stricken prince, the leader of a campaign against her people.

As they traverse the daunting Nine Mountains, beset by mercenaries and magical dangers, Avry must decide who is worth healing and what is worth dying for.”

Now let us all proceed with the four books left in my book haul which are:

-Catching Fire by: Suzanne Collins

-Mockingjay by: Suzanne Collins

-The Evolution of Mara Dyer by: Michelle Hodkin

-The Retribution of Mara Dyer by: Michelle Hodkin

Now,now, now calm down people and please forgive me for not reading The Hunger Games Trilogy yet. I know this is such a shame but don’t worry I’ve got the trilogy already and I’ll read it as soon as possible.

I guess I don’t need to post the summary of these books or explain about them since I know most of you have already read these books.

But if you insist just read the summaries in here:

The Evolution of Mara Dyer & The Retribution of Mara Dyer

by: Michelle Hodkin

Ahhh! Finally,my Mara Dyer Trilogy is finally complete. Can’t wait to read this trilogy and I really need a right time to read this trilogy so that I can really feel the story and the characters anddd… to meet NOAH SHAW!

You can read the summaries in here:

Phew! I’m done at last and I can’t wait to do my second book haul maybe next month? 😉

I wish you enjoyed reading this blog post and please don’t forget to leave your thoughts down below. Once again I’m so sorry for the delay. *sigh* I really don’t know when will I make another blog post since this week is my exam week again! Maybe I’ll make another blog post this coming weekend and I’m crossing my fingers right now for that. I really really really need to stop ranting because I need to memorize Brutus’ speech for my English oral recitation tomorrow. Wish me luck guys!

See ya’ll !

-Shawna 🙂

Reader Problems Book Tag!

Geez… Hey Guys! Yes, you’re right I’m doing a book tag like right now. I did not expect to do another blog post since tomorrow will be my exams but whatever my hands are itching to do some book tags.

So let’s not make this rant much longer and let me start right away!

Q#1: You have 20,000 books on your TBR. How in the world do you decide what to read next?

Oh, that 20,000 books are still not enough for me but if you say 20,000 books then 20,000 it is. I guess it will really depend on my mood and what genres I’m interested in for a certain month or season. I’m really not that conscious about deciding what book am I going to read next in my TBR pile. The important thing is I finished my TBR pile with flying colors. (Okay, that flying colors thing is so freaking exage.)

Seriously? Flying or spitting with colors?! I’m confused.

Q#2: You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you quit or are you committed?

Secret… No, just kidding. Sometimes I quit and sometimes I stay committed but for those books that I’ve quit reading I always get back to them. I always give those books a second chance because I know that at very end of the book it will be worth it.

Q#3: The end of the year is coming and you’re so close, but so far away on your Goodreads reading challenge. Do you try to catch up and how?

Uhhmmm… I really really really really really really don’t know how because I am never good in catching up with challenges and I hate challenges. So as you could see my Goodreads reading challenge is not progressing because 1.) I’m too lazy to tick that read button and 2.) School is keeping me slow from reading my books, but anyway I’m so pumped to read more books after my exams.

Q#4: The covers of a series you love do. not. match. How do you cope?

Uhhh… book covers are really awesome but what’s inside the book is the most important for me so no coping up needed.

Q#5: Every one and their mother loves a book you really don’t like. Who do you bond with over shared feelings?

I guess I’ll just have to keep these feelings to myself or I’ll just have to let it out even though they’re going to hate me for it. It’s my own opinion anyway so do know to mind your own business.

Q#6: You’re reading a book and you are about to start crying in public. How do you deal?

Got to find the nearest bathroom after all and pour my emotions out there with the toilet at least I’ve got to have some free tissues.

Q#7: A sequel of a book you loved just came out, but you’ve forgotten a lot from the prior novel. Will you re-read the book?

Probably not I’ll just go find a summary after all or I’ll re-read the book but I have to skip some parts or chapters. I am not a fan of re-reading books because it feels like I’m wasting lots of time and I need that time to read my books in my never ending TBR pile. When I feel like re-reading a book sometimes, I just listen to its audio book and that’s where I appreciate the existence of audio books here on Earth.

Q#8: You do not want anyone. ANYONE. borrowing your books. How do you politely tell people nope when they ask?

HA! I guess my classmates are reading this so yes, fellas I hate anyone borrowing my books. So I came up with these reasons 1.) My mum will still read the book after I finished reading it. 2.) My cousins borrowed my books and 3.) I simply tell them that I don’t allow anyone to borrow my books. P.S. My fellow classmates who are reading this blog post I’m so sorry to let you down but my books are for me only I love you guys but when it comes to my books I become an over protective person.

Q#9: Reading ADD. You’ve picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over your reading slump?

I’ll just give it a rest and watch lots of TV series and do lots of blog post until I miss reading books and yes I’m currently in this situation. I’m having a slow reading progress with Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and I hate my self for that.

Q#10: There are so many new books coming out that you’re dying to read! How many do you actually buy?

I’ll just take my time to save some money and convince my mum and uncle to buy me some books then voila! I have it all.

P.S. Love you mum and some peace for you uncle. 😀

Q#11: After you’ve bought the new books you can’t wait to get to, how long do they sit on your shelf before you get to them?

HA! No idea at all as long as I have them and I need to read them soon.

OH! FINALLY! Thank you so much guys for reading this blog post I hope you enjoyed reading this. I’m finally back and still alive.*pumps fist into the air*

I tag all of you especially these people

The Real Neat Blog Award!

Hooooh! Another blog award! Hey Guys! I’m so happy because I was nominated by Casey of INSPIREDBYTHEPAGE in this blog award. Thank you so so so much Casey for nominating me! 🙂

So.. what are we waiting for?

Let’s start!

#1: Put the award logo on your blog.

#2: Answer 7 questions asked by the person who nominated you.

#3: Thank the people who nominated you, linking to their blog.

#4: Nominate any number of bloggers you like, linking to their blogs.

#5: Let them know you nominated them (by commenting on their blog, etc.)

So here are the questions given by Casey that I should answer:

1.) What superpower would you like to have, and what would you do with it?

I love this question! *winks* INVISIBILITY OF COURSE! It’s the most powerful superpower for me though. I can sneak wherever I want and nobody will notice me. I can make pranks not only a normal pranks but a very very horrible pranks. I can sneak books from bookstores and libraries unless their CCTV cameras can detect invisible people but I certainly doubt it. Seriously there are lots of things you can do when you have the power of invisibility. The perfect combination for invisibility are teleportation and telekinesis. I swear if I have these powers HA! that would be ultra mega awesome!

2.) Do your friends in “real life” know about your blog?

Some of them yes but some are no but the majority are yes. HAHAHA! They help me to spread my blog and of course they actually read my posts and it encourage them to read the books that I’ve discussed. I owe them a lot as in a lot especially to my mum. My mum is my number one fan and reader and spreader of my blog.

Hi mum! I know you’re reading this. 😉

3.) Have you been to any book conventions? (BookCon, Ya’llwest, ect.)

Errr… *cries* NOT YET. I’m too far from U.S.A and I really want to go there and join any book conventions especially the RT Convention. Too bad for me though the convention passed already *sigh* The RT Convention will be held in Vegas next year right? Ahhh! I wish I could go there. Going to any book conventions will be part of my best days in my whole life.

4.) If you could bring one character to life, who would it be?

You all know why I want him,I’ve explained it yesterday. 😉

Ahhh Jem! *swoons*

5.) What book sparked your reading itch?

Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling!

6.) If you could have lunch with any celebrity (author, actor, singer…) who would it be?

By the angel Casey I freaking love your questions!

Author: Cassandra Clare

Oh yesh, as what I’ve said in my other post I want to meet her and talk about the upcoming Shadowhunters TV Series, her upcoming series, her life and more. She’s my favorite author guys! I’m so thankful and glad to have her novels in my life.

Actor: Asa Butterfield

YES! I have lots of favorite actors and actresses but no one can beat my bae which is Asa Butterfield. I have a huge huge crush on him ahhh his eyes are so beautiful.

This lyrics from Taylor’s song named Style really fits him:

“You got that James Dean day dream look in your eye.”

Well that’s my opinion though but I really really really love to meet him in person! I’m so excited to see him on Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children movie next year!

omgomgomgomg! *swoon 24/7* Ugggh! The eyes by the angel!

*plays Taylor’s Style*

My message for Asa:

HA! 😉

Singer: Taylor Swift

Gosh! This is so obvious isn’t it?! I love Taylor’s song her music videos her personality her beauty and more. The lyrics of her songs are inspiring and really realistic. Gosh, listening to her songs are part of my daily routine. There’s always a time for her no matter how busy I am. I mean come on it’s a music so it’s just so easy to insert music when you’re busy. You all get what I mean? HAHAHA! By the way have you seen her latest music video? Her Bad Blood music video?! Oh my gosh it’s a freaking badass music video one of my favorites.

Here’s the music video though:

“Band-aids don’t fix bullet holes
You say sorry just for show
You live like that, you live with ghosts”

Pretty hard right?!

The Liebster Blog Award! (Again :>)

And here are the questions coming from Ashley that I must answer:

#1: If you could date any fictional character who would it be? If that’s too hard, give me your top three.

Jem Carstairs

It will be Jem of course! because he’s perfect so very very perfect. (Well, for me I guess.) Aside from his good looks and different talents and skills,he’s a gentlemen, kind hearted, and understanding. Jem doesn’t care to make sacrifices as long as it will make the people he loves happy. He’s forgiving and soft but when you mess with him well one thing’s for sure: YOU’RE DEAD! His good looks are a very huge bonus but the most important thing for me is his character, and that’s why I love him and I’d like to date him someday. If dating a fictional character is possible. *fingers crossed*

#2: Book version of Kill, Kiss, Marry! Go!

Uh-oh.. this game is new to me so I’m so sorry if I’ll get this wrong.

KILL: Queen Tatiania Ivashkov (Vampire Academy Series) I really really really hate her!

KISS: Jem Carstairs (TID and TMI)

Marry: Jem Cartsairs (TID and TMI)

Go: with Jem Carstairs (TID and TMI)

#3: You land the ultimate dream job- running a HUGE library! Only draw back is its incredibly haunted. Would you still do it?

Well, it depends on how haunted the house is or maybe I could just talk with the ghosts and read with them. We could also make a fandom and go fangirling all together. Nah, who knows right? I could also bring my friends in there too. Books and a very different kind of adventure with my friends? Hell yeah!

#4: Favorite book of 2014

The Mortal Instruments Series by: Cassandra Clare

The Fault In Our Stars by: John Green

#5: Favorite book of 2015 (so far)

Caster Chronicles by: Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

#6: Why did you decided to make a blog?

Because I want to share my thoughts about the books that I’ve read to everyone and to meet lots of bibliophiles and and fangirl with them.

#7: If you had a chance to live in any fictional book reality which would you choose and why?

Uhmm.. I’d choose between the worlds of Harry Potter and The Mortal Instruments because there’s magic, physical fighting with swords or wands, and because of its  unusual and unique events.

#8:  Least favorite book you’ve read recently and why?

None, so far. *Laughing out Loud* Seriously, none as in none.

#9:If you could spend the day with one author who would it be?

Cassandra Clare!!! I’d really like to talk to her about the casts of the Shadowhunters TV Series, her upcoming series, her life, shadowhunting world and more!!

#10: Recommend me a good book! Pretty please?

Oh, sure!

Ruby Red Trilogy by: Kerstin Gier

#1: Aside from books shoes’ are my weaknesses especially boots. Seriously though, if I have some extra money I’ll spend it for boots. No, I’d rather buy it with tons of books. Yeah, that’s me no matter how tempting the boots are I’d spend my money for books, books, and books!

#2: I eat during class hours especially in the morning and I CAN’T HELP IT! My breakfast dissolves quickly I guess because I’ve got to travel for one hour in order for me to get into school. Believe me, traveling to my school involves lots of adrenaline, walking and sometimes running because I’m late already and that’s my exercise already. Including going up and down our school stairs.

#3: I’m always sleepy during Math class,so what I do is eat lots of chocolate or find something to eat during the class. Yeah, they never mind though.

#4: I really don’t care about my seating arrangement in class as long as I’m not seated with NOISY AND ANNOYING PEOPLE. Please, I’m having a hard time understanding these lessons why don’t you all shut up and listen? Well, I can’t tell them that cause I know they’ll just give me fits of hysterical giggles. I’ll just walk away and sit somewhere that I can comfortably listen to my teacher.

#5: I really love to make jokes and some pranks, you can’t see it on my face but when I’m with my friends well it naturally comes out. I cannot control it though,I just love to see my friends smiling and laughing even though it’s me they’re laughing at. In a good way I mean.

Just imagining myself walking between tall buildings ahh so cool! Then there’s a lot of bookstores in there uggh!
